Treasurer’s financial report

As you can see from the summarised accounts below, our bank balance is still very healthy. And by contrast with the 2024-25 membership year, it has actually gone up!

Besides some very successful events, this increase was mainly due to extra membership income in June 2025, with relatively high numbers of members renewing or rejoining later. This has not been the case in June 2026 – member numbers have now stabilised at around 240, and membership income is expected to be lower in the 2026-27 membership year.

The “Events” entry includes income and costs for last year’s amazing in-person event in Norwich, plus the two workshops with Magistrad and Grant Hamilton. And the “Expenses” entry includes the regular costs for our website hosting and newsletter.

Our mentoring schemes are now up and running thanks to the hard work of Sabine Citron (Translation) and Philippa Hammond (Business), and we hope to match several more mentoring pairs this year too – email Sabine or Philippa for more info.

We offer grants of up to £100 either for CPD or for upgrading to MITI and were delighted to award four training grants over the last membership year. All the info can be found in our updated Grants Policy, which was posted on the forum a few weeks ago. But you can also just send me an email to find out more info about how to apply for a grant.

Our bank balance has built up to this level over many years, and I cannot stress enough how much we’d like to be spending more of it! So, please do take advantage of our mentoring schemes and grants. And if you have any ideas for new initiatives where we could put our money to good use, please get in touch and we can discuss them on the committee.
